Painting

I am most aware of the influence of art history on me when I paint. The hours I have spent in art galleries examining brushstrokes and colour combinations kicks in when I pick up a brush. To hone my skills, I do rabbit-hole-worthy research on the palettes and techniques of the artist that informs a body of work. I also sometimes just muck around and abandon the academic approaches to painting.
