In this body of work, young women- the same young women I painted in their teenaged years, now in their 20’s- are confronted with everyday life and mundane domesticity: how to remain the feminist of your adolescence?
Exploring the interiority of Vermeer paintings, each sitter loses herself in a mindless domestic task and, through her focus, becomes indifferent to the objectifying gaze of the viewer, her mind her own.
