In 2012, I was one of four people who cofounded a grassroots contemporary arts organization in my small town of Port Hope, Ontario. Our goal is to bring contemporary art to Port Hope, engaging our community through artist residencies, events and educational experiences. Although no longer on the board, I remain a member of the curatorial committee. And because we are a small organization, there are lots of volunteer hours available to give here. Experiencing and making with my local community and artists-in-residence from national and international locales is a fundamental part of my practice.
